It did my soul good yesterday to catch up on the phone with one of my very best friends. It wasn’t a conversation about anything in particular, it truly was a “catching up” on our lives. It felt good to listen, to be heard, to laugh, to know that I was communing with a friend who knows me well and cares. Today involved attending a “Summer Book Club” meeting which did not involve an assigned book (as we officially take a break for the summer) but DID involve yummy food, lively discussion, and time floating in a sun dappled pool in a gorgeous backyard. I have been blessed throughout my life that despite moving frequently, usually every three years or so, that I have found a close female friend in nearly every location. There’s nothing like the power of friendship to set your mind and heart at ease. So, cheers to all of my girlfriends throughout the world.
